In addition to its local anaesthetic effect, the treatment is intended to help modulate pain stimuli and support the regulatory processes of the autonomic nervous system.

Chronic and recurrent symptoms can have various causes. They are often influenced by several factors. For this reason, a thorough medical examination must take place before any neural therapy, and each case must be assessed individually. When considering the symptoms described, their progression and their possible triggers, we take into account any pre-existing conditions as well as previous treatments. On this basis, we tailor the therapy individually to the patient and decide together with them whether, and in what form, neural therapy is suitable as a complementary treatment approach.

In women, neural therapy can be used as a complementary treatment, particularly for the following conditions:

Vulvodynia

Vulvodynia refers to chronic pain in the vulva, for which no clear organic cause can often be identified. Typical symptoms include a burning sensation, stinging, soreness or marked sensitivity to touch. The symptoms may be persistent or occur in episodes and can be exacerbated, for example, by touch, sexual intercourse, sitting or tight clothing.

Various factors may contribute to the development of vulvodynia, including increased sensitivity of the nerves and pain processing, as well as a tense or overactive pelvic floor.

Neural therapy can be used here as a complementary treatment approach to specifically target pain stimuli.

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) involves physical and emotional symptoms that typically occur in the second half of the menstrual cycle and improve with the onset of menstruation or shortly afterwards.

Possible symptoms include abdominal pain or headaches, breast tenderness, water retention, tiredness, sleep disturbances, mood swings, irritability or restlessness. The severity can vary greatly from woman to woman.

Neural therapy can be used as a complementary treatment as part of an individualised treatment plan. The aim is to influence pain signals and the regulatory processes of the autonomic nervous system.

Migraine

Migraine is a neurological condition characterised by recurrent headaches. Typical symptoms include pain that is often one-sided, pulsating or throbbing, which may be accompanied by nausea and increased sensitivity to light, sound or smells. Some sufferers also experience an aura.

In women in particular, migraine attacks may also be linked to hormonal changes and the menstrual cycle.

Neural therapy can be used as a complementary component of an individualised treatment plan. Depending on the specific symptoms, carefully selected injection points are treated.

Pudendal neuralgia

Pudendal neuralgia is a neuropathic pain syndrome affecting the area innervated by the pudendal nerve. This nerve innervates large parts of the pelvic floor as well as the external genitalia and perineum.

Typical symptoms include burning, stabbing or electric-shock-like pain in the genital and pelvic floor areas. The symptoms often worsen when sitting. Pain during sexual intercourse, as well as marked sensitivity to touch or pressure, may also occur.

As part of neural therapy, depending on the individual findings, targeted injections or nerve blocks may be considered to temporarily interfere with the transmission of pain signals.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the womb is found outside the womb. This can lead to inflammatory reactions, adhesions and, in some cases, severe pain.

Common symptoms include severe menstrual cramps, recurrent or chronic lower abdominal and pelvic pain, pain during sexual intercourse, and discomfort during bowel movements or urination. Infertility may also be associated with endometriosis.

In cases of chronic pain, factors such as the endometriosis lesions themselves, nerves, pelvic floor muscles, and pain processing may all play a role.

Neural therapy can be used as a complementary treatment approach for endometriosis-related pain. However, it does not treat the endometriosis lesions themselves and is not a substitute for established medical, hormonal, or surgical treatments for endometriosis.

Menopausal Symptoms and Side Effects of Anti-Hormonal Therapy

The hormonal changes that occur during menopause can be accompanied by a variety of physical and emotional symptoms. These include, for example, hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, restlessness, fatigue, headaches, and muscle and joint pain.

Similar symptoms may also occur as a result of antihormonal therapy, such as that used to treat hormone-dependent cancers. Depending on the treatment, symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, joint and muscle pain, and other issues can impair quality of life.

Especially when traditional hormone replacement therapy is not desired or is not an option for medical reasons, there is often a desire for complementary, non-hormonal treatment options.

Neural therapy may be considered as a complementary, non-hormonal treatment option following an individual medical evaluation. The treatment and injection sites are selected on a case-by-case basis, depending on the primary symptoms.

Important: Neural therapy does not replace or alter existing anti-hormonal therapy. Particularly in cases of cancer, treatment should be coordinated with the treating specialists. To date, the scientific evidence supporting neural therapy for the treatment of menopausal symptoms or side effects of anti-hormonal therapies is limited.

In summary
Pain and chronic conditions vary from person to person—and so should their treatment. After taking a detailed medical history and conducting a thorough physical examination, we work with patients to discuss which treatment options are appropriate for their individual situation and whether neural therapy is a suitable complementary treatment.

         All services

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT NEURAL THERAPY WOMEN’S HEALTH DRUG-BASED TUMOUR THERAPY PREGNANCY CARE NUTRITIONAL MEDICINE &
